William Harold Jesse Stone was the third child of James Henry Stone & Emily Ellen Young born September 28th, 1877 at Stourbridge, Worcs.
In 1881 William & his parents were living at Park St, Stourbridge. He had an older brother & 2 sisters.
The family were living at 100 High St, Stourbridge in 1891 & William & his brother Henry were both working as shop boys.
William married Emily Judson Wynne in Jan-March 1901, the marriage being registered at Aston. Emily was born c1876 at Clydach, Glamorgan.
William & Emily were living with William’s parents at the time of the 1901 census at 69 Worcester St, Stourbridge. William was working as a hosier.
By 1911 William & Emily had a 4 year old son, Leonard Bennett, & they were living at 4 Caernarvon Grove, Gedling, Notts. William was now a cutter in the tailoring trade. His mother, Emily Ellen, was with them at the time of the census.
Emily died in April-June 1926 at Nottingham, aged 49.

In Oct-December 1926 William married again. His second wife was Winifred Elizabeth Harrison & the marriage was registered at Stourbridge, Worcs. Winifred was born November 3rd, 1889.
In 1929 son Leonard married Beata Grace Nichols in Nottingham. In 1939 they were living in Stroud, Gloucestershire & Leonard was a designer, draughtsman & hydraulic machinery engineer.
The 1939 Register lists William & Winifred living at 116 Chandos St, Carlton Urban District, Nottinghamshire. William was chief store keeper (white sugar).
William died on January 12th, 1965 at Nottingham, aged 87 & was buried January 14th at Gedling Cemetery, Notts.
Winifred died on April 22nd, 1969 at Basford, Nottingham, aged 79 & was buried at Gedling Cemetery, Notts.
